Dinner at Koppe Bridge with the family
We went to Koppe Bridge for dinner the night before the big event. There was a baby right behind us was born the day after Colleen . And the baby that was baptized with Colleen was born the day before. (lucky boy got St. Paddy's day instead of Colleen!)
Colleen and Sarah Stobb
I just love this photo. This was after Colleen had spit up all over Sarah, forcing her to change clothes and then come back and say, "give her back!"
They are just looking at each other with such sweet faces! As if to say, so we're 15 years apart... we're still cousins!

Colleen's Baptism
Fr. Brian Baptized Colleen.
He and I used to plan this huge New Years Bash each year... who knew he'd someday Baptize my daughter?

Colleen's Baptism
Colleen was Baptized this past Sunday. She cried most of the way through the ceremony, and just like Emelie, stopped right after she was Baptized!
We had a wonderful day, visiting with friends and with my two aunts from San Antonio who came for the event. Also my Dad and his wife Dottie, who took out uncounted bags of trash and washed all the dishes on the sly (thanks!!) Curt's cousin Andy Rettenmaier and his wife Joanne and their daughter Emmy surprised us by coming and we had a great time catching up with them. And, of course, having Curt's sister Lisa and her husband Tony join us with their four great kids made everything perfect.
We had a reception afterward at our home. Ate lots of cake and not-so-good-for-you yummy snacks and slept REALLY well that night!

The "Squirt"... how have we lived without it??
This just about does it for me. Having 4 kids, I've seen my fair share of baby care inventions. This tops them all.
I was at the grocery store last night and this strange object caught my eye:
SQUIRT the baby food dispensing spoon.
See, the fat end of the "spoon" is like a hollow bulb that you fill with the baby food. Then, you squeeze the bulb part and it "squirts" (thus the name) the baby food into the spoon part on the end for you to then feed to your child. Oh, and it even has a cap to put on the end!
I guess, for some people, the act of dipping the spoon into the baby food container is not complicated enough. AND they must enjoy washing out awkwardly shaped containers caked with sticky and/or dried baby food.

Emelie's First Holy Communion
My sweet Emelie received her first Holy Communion this Sunday and we are so proud of her!
Emelie and Jonathan
I just love them!!! And they actually look like they like (dare I say LOVE) each other!
Emelie, Jonathan and Katherine
This was before we left for the Church. Curt took these on the back porch. I just love it!! Thanks hubby!
On the way home...
I love this photo. This was on the way home from Emelie's First Communion. It reflects the chaos that goes on in our car every day!
Hmmm... the next time she's riding in a car in a white dress and veil...

Cheez-It Cereal
Emelie and Jonathan were outside riding bikes, since they had a day off from school.
Emelie came in and got a snack of water and Cheez-Its for herself and her brother.
About 10 minutes later, Jonathan came back in carefully carrying his bowl into the kitchen, like he was trying not to spill something. Curious, I asked what was in the bowl.
He said...
"Emelie gave me some of her water so I could make Cheez-It cereal. It was really GOOD!"
Boys are gross. Funny, but gross!

Special on Pope Benedict
The Fox News Channel is airing “Mission to America: Pope Benedict XVI,” on Sunday at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. EDT. It should be good! Hope you watch it.
Benedict
I think that someday there will be as many little Catholic "Benedicts" running around as there are "John Pauls" today. I admit that I have been guilty of letting our current Pope be overshadowed by his great predecessor, JPII. But no more!
Hearing of his Baptism of Magdi Allam, a famous Muslim at the Easter Vigil Mass in St. Peters this past month and his call to love Jesus and come back to the roots of our faith makes me just LOVE him!
I haven't read much of his writings, but I plan to... my Easter resolution. If you'd like to join me, here are a few links:
Encyclicals:
Spe Salvi (Saved by Hope)
Deus Caritas Est (God is Love)
His recent book: Jesus of Nazareth
Let me know if you plan on reading any of these. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.

Isn't she cute...
I was supposed to be taking photos of Colleen, but Katherine was being a goof in the curtains, and her photos turned out pretty well! She's a cutie pie and loves to pose for the camera. Heaven help us!
